- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Looking good. I really like the design, logical progression of the Krivak. Nice to see a Soviet ship in the build, I feel as though naval stuff doesn't get as much love here.

Do all Soviet/Russian ships have that bright red deck colour? Hardly camouflaged, is it?

Ah yes, perhaps it's a political statement.....  ;D
For the most part, yes, that is their standard deck color. Some surfaces may be the standard gray, but most deck surfaces receive the reddish brown. I believe it is a no-slip coating. It actually isn't all that far off the the reddish brown linoleum deck color the Japanese used in WWII.
It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth.

It's not a lack of love, it's just that most of us are aircraft modellers, a matter of statistics.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

That looks great Geoff ! I can see what you're saying regarding the PE stuff, I've noticed that on models I've seen on on the net.

The Russians ships were mostly red anti-slip surfaces, some of the sea decks on larger ships have a dark brown/very dark grey on their sea decks with superstructure decks still in Red. Some of the Smaller combatants have a bright green decks instead of Red. Of note is that the deck colour is also used on the hull below the waterline. RN ships also used the Green or Red semtex anti-slip deck coatings before they switched to Deck Greys.
The latest Russian Frigates hove now adopted a deck grey anti-slip paint to bring them up-to date.

Jason, oh we do have a few ships from time to time, but not all Group Builds offer the right sort of scope to do suitable ship based builds, but its fun to get one done  and out of the way

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Semtex Ltd was the maker of a paste used to cover the Steel decks of ships to make a waterproof, non-slip surface.

Great job!  I agree that railings on 1/700 scale ships is too much and take away from the model. Plus they can be mighty tricky to install, at least for me. Well done.
