1/72 Blue Gemini satellite interceptor

This, and having watched Serenity again last week, has got me thinking about an armed Space Shuttle.
Monogram 1/72 with an Airfix Bofors in the cargo bay manned by a pair of astronauts.  None of which I currently have in my stash.

Impressive model! By any chance have you read the Blue Gemini series by Mike Jenne? My understanding is that it has a similar premise to this WHIF.

Now that actually is a very nice what-if indeed. I like how you solved the 'problem' of dealing with the two separate modules behind the capsule. I guess the concave foil structure wouldn't have been needed, but it makes for a nicer rear anyway.
Also, nice how you dealt with the retropack.

Mike Jenne has written a novel trilogy about the Blue Gemini project avaliable on Amazon - it'a pricey, but having read the first novel, it's a good read
