Simple question - was US Air Superiority Grey ever gloss or was it always matt?

According to IPMS Stockholm, Air Defense Command Gray is FS 36473.  Now, that being said, having talked to Six crewchiefs and mechanics whilst a member of the 177FW, the Delta Dart had a smooth, slippery paint job, so I'd probably lean towards FS 26473 or even 16473

Yep, 16473, the (1) denoting gloss.
