Space:1999/Star Trek kitbash?

For a long time, I've been trying to figure out what to whif my MPC 1/48 scale Space:1999 Eagle transporter into.    I think I may have just come up with something, so tell me if this is a viable idea or not and what further changes to make.

The Idea:
Build the Eagle pretty much as is except for the addition of Star Trek type warp nacelles. Paint and decal it in a fashion similar to Lonestar's Eagle 5 RV from the movie Spaceballs.  And the passenger pod in the middle of the Eagle I hope to cut open and have an interior.

And if my above idea fails for any reason, there's always Plan B WHIF: Space Police Prisoner Transport

I like the 2nd idea ... but, then, I do work for the South Australian Dept for Correctional Services.
