Hope you would like to see a few pictures from Yeovilton's Air Day this year:

An enjoyable day again - have included a picture of 22 month-old grandson at his first airshow (his father tweeted " I think my youngest may explode with joy!" If it was allowed, the lad would watch videos of Red Arrows, Spitfires and "noisy aeroplane" (F-16) all day.
However, there were notably fewer fliers than before - Sea Fury & Swordfish grounded and for years the grand finale has been a grand commando assault, but apparently we did not have enough Merlins available so the (superb) Patrouille Suisse closed the show.

The Sea Vixen did not look too bad after her belly landing, but apparently the damage is worse than at first thought and the support team were very pessimistic about seeing her fly again. Nothing that cannot be repaired if over £3 million can be found.

Even the pasty oven had broken down so there were no pasties to be had. At Yeovilton? It is the end of civilisation as we know it. At least cider was still available.

Flickr is telling me "page not found" when I click on the link.
Maybe the fate of the Pastie Oven has also befallen it?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I get a 404 error, and it says that I've '..... not been authorised to view this page....'
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sorry about that!
Thanks for looking. Have checked the "make available for public viewing"  box - hope it works.

Thanks for the pics

Could you sue someone for the Pasty Oven being unavailable ? I mean it's technically in the West Country therefore compulsory I would have thought ? Mind you after a couple of pints of cider you probably wouldn't notice  :drink:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Brilliant photos Glen, many thanks.
Who operates the Whirlwind?
I was winched up into one of those back in 1964, just near to Kings Lynn.

Glad you like the pictures.
It was good to see a Whirlwind in the air again, owned by Andrew Whitehouse. The Facebook homepage is https://www.facebook.com/WhirlwindHarMark10/.
I remember talking to a Whirlwind pilot when it was still in service; he said that the turbine-engined versions had a problem with static electricity that had to be earthed before a pick-up - not previously a concern in piston-engined models.

Still recovering from the pasty famine; it is well known  that Yeovilton Air Day means pasties, cider and commando assault - hope for more than one out of three next year!

Yep.  That works now.
Good to see a proper English summer sky again.   ;D

Thank you for sharing.
