That Nene Lancastrian sounds interesting: is it just the Nene tail bits, or does it include the rest of the Lancastrian parts as well?

You get all the parts needed to convert than Lancaster to the Lancastrian (nose, tail, rudders etc), plus the wing mounted engines. A standard Lancastrian transport will follow which will be cheaper as the larger parts in this set are the jet engines.

That would go well with the Python FTB I'm building --- more pennies to save   ;D
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Hmmmm, that gives me a few ideas.  ;)

Those Nene nacelles could prove very handy for other projects, perhaps they could be made available separately?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Ah, right: I was thinking of the one with a single engine in the tail. This is the one with two Nenes in place of the outer Merlins.

Edit: it was a Metrovick Beryl in the tail, and the airframe was a Lancaster B Mk.II (Hercules engines).

This means I can finally build a jet powered Avro Shackleton
I'm sure someone will do a Sunderland conversion, I'll be ordering a few sets myself.

The Mantis does indeed look interesting, though I think I will wait for the decal set to be finished.
All hail 1:72!

A belated thank you to those who came over at SMW. A successful show, and Dave was happy as he sold out of Mantis kits, all thanks to the sig I suspect! For those who bought one and want the actual decals, he is hoping to have on sale at Bolton, I'm trying to convince him to add some what-if schemes as I undestand the UAE looked into buying it?
