A Maserati? A Ferrari? How about having a nice big 14 cylinder-engined Saetta to play with?
Most Macchi C.200 Saettas that survived the 2nd World War got to continue their duty in the Italian air force as a trainer. After that, most of them probably were scrapped and some of them ended up in museums.
But what if just a couple of them were obtained by private individuals? with that idea in mind I took a nice 1/72 model I have of the Macchi C.200 and recoloured it.
Quite a process, since the model originally was camouflaged and that made it very hard to photoshop all the colour out. So I redrew the panel lines and outlines. After that, recolouring was easy.

I used the free paper model designed by the late Fabrizio Prudenziati, who made a busload of wonderful and quite accurate models of all kinds of planes of WW1 and WW2 fame, Italian, German, French, English, American. They're so much fun to build. His models are still able to be found by using the wayback machine. Nice for when you are on holiday. Just need an Xacto, a small bottle of white glue, 2 or three copies of any model (in case you make a wrong cut) an you're good to go.

This is the result. A white one with blue ribbons over the fuselage and wings and a grey/sea green one with seahorse themed decorations on wing and fuselage. I made that one for my girlfriend. She loved it. (-:
I hope you like them too.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
