The Breguet Br1150 Atlantic is a medium to longer range maritime patrol aircraft in service with France, Germany and Italy.
There are similarities between the Atlantic and the Neptune so what if Lockheed had designed the Atlantic as a replacement.
There's two 1/72 scale kits to choose the Revell and the Mach2 models.
There are two Revell kits both in white plastic that allow the modeller to build the German, Dutch or French versions. If you use the spare parts the Italian variant can also be built although a separate resin conversion set is available for the Atlantique ATL2 but no aftermarket kits for the ELINT versions.
Mach2 also does a slightly smaller Kit but the Revell parts don't fit and it's best to raid the spare parts bin. The cockpit glazing does allow limited access.
Hasegawa , Frog and Revell provide the Lockheed Neptune. There's aftermarket kits available for improvements.
What ever Kit you choose build as per instructions apart from the dipping radome as this will be replaced with the radome from the Neptune along with the wing tank, searchlight and auxiliary turbojets.
I have found that the resin radome taken from the AeroClub Avro Shackleton AEW conversion set is a good fit. The turbojets pylons will need trimming to fit under the Atlantic wing, so will the wingtip fuel tank and wingtip searchlight.
Should make an interesting whiff.
