My Name Is Greg, and admitting I have a problem is the first step..

I think I need a 12-step program for people who refuse to wait until paint or glue are fully dried before moving on to the next step.  I mean, I know I should wait until it's fully set before I tear off the masking tape or try to attach the landing gear... but I just can't seem to stop myself...  :banghead: :banghead:

I blame the disease, not myself...
Thanks!

Paint? Yes. Well ...

I, too, have a problem leaving paint to fully dry, Brother Greg!

Divots, gouges, torn paint & whopping-great fingerprints are par for the course for me but, every day, (I kid myself) I'm improving!

Calm, calm.
What you need is to have lots of models on the go at the same time then you will not be able to remember which one you are waiting for, and they will all be suitably dry when you do remember which it was you were thinking about.

EXACTLY what Jim says, have more than one model on the go at once, then you can always move on to the next one while waiting for paint or glue to dry.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

And your 'Just something to tinker with while the glue/paint dries, I'll get onto working on it seriously when the other one is finished' becomes the new focus of all your effort...  :banghead:

one model on the go at a time??

how does that work?

surely that would lead to the " as you are not doing a model at the moment you can decorate ( insert room name here) type syndrome

one model at a time .... will they never learn?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

This is less of a problem for those of us who do not have a permanent modelling bench/table, who are "forced" to clear the dining table at regular intervals to allow communal dining ;)

Dining table?  What is this thing of which you speak?
Do you not eat from a tray on your lap in front of the TV?

A tray , what's that? A book or a newspaper balanced on the knees.

I have 3 models on the go at a time and still suffer this problem  :banghead: ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

strobez

Yeah... it's not like I have nothing else to work on.  I find the problem becomes acute when I decided to focus on just one model to try and finish it off.

I suspected I wasn't the only one afflicted. It's actually quite interesting to see how many of seem to have similar challenges.  Safety in numbers, I guess...
Thanks!

Greg

Why do I choose the most obvious place on the model to poke the paint with a finger to see if it is dry?
