I noticed the vinyl reinforcement is absent from the canopy?  :mellow:

It predates the in-service mod to the canopy.

Some years ago I was collecting as many different variants of any particular aircraft that I could. One set was the F-84 and after getting the Airfix, Italeri, Heller and Academy kits I found a Testors kit of an F-84F. It was different to the Airfix F-84F so I bought it. Only it wasn't an F-84F, it was an YF-84F and after a bit of work, I got it to look like the one in Jon's photos in the above post.

Can't post a pic of it here as you know, but I could put it up on the BTS forum.

I have a new "White Whale." I must track down one of these Testors kits!  :o :mellow:

While we're on the subject, how is the Airfix kit? I have to say, just glancing at mine, it looks sort of ratty but that may just be a false first impression. All I've done is merely look at it.
