I love that propeller paint job.  That actually made me think it could work for a "in-flight" presentation on a more detailed scale kit as well.  Just swap out the prop and paint the "blur lines"... hmmm...

Cutting the disc out of polycarbonate was hell because I didn't have a suitable tool for it, so I just had to mark it out, cut it bit-by-bit with a saw and then round it off with sandpaper. Having said that, I used very thick polycarb to make sure the edge wasn't sharp and it couldn't break easily: if you were doing it for a non-baby-proof display model you could use much thinner stuff.
