With the recent release of the 1/72 Mach2 AW Argosy, which has it's problems when you try and build it. Common faults are badly fitting parts, sink holes and the lack of a comprehensive instruction sheet.
There's a fair share of flash to clean up which is why I replaced most of the parts with the Italeri Fairchild C-119G/K kit. This almost worked-mistakes were made and noted.
I'm thinking of replacing the Rolls-Royce Dart engines with turbofans. The RAF kit has the option of the different rear doors but costs a bit more than the civilian model.
Allison turboprops would also work as well.
Perhaps add the hose and drogue tanks under the wings.
As for the AEW role that is a easy option, I'd go back to the gunship.
