Well, she's done.

I used some steel wire for the rigging as I was really just too lazy to try anything else - especially after I burned myself trying something tricky with some monofilament line and ended up with a blob of plastic napalm on my thumb. It would just about be perfect for 1/48 scale though... if I was in to that sort of thing... ;)

All things considered, I'm pleased with how it turned out.  I'm not sure I like the grey nose, but that's how Herge drew it, so that's what I get I guess.  The scratch--built canopies (well, windscreens) don't quite sit properly and I seem to have no luck with CA glue anywhere near clear parts... they're like magnets for mistakes.  The thing I'm most happy with though is the tail.  That red/white rising sun emblam pops next to the green-grey fuselage colour.  Too bad it's got such a negative connotation associated with it...

Thanks!

Clear parts look OK in the pics and while the rigging is too thick it is a cartoon aircraft.
I think it looks great.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The aircraft looks very good. Sorry for your thumb!  ;D
Have you tried using white glue for sticking clear parts?
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Nice!

Let's just call it "engineered for extreme structural integrity". ;)

Hey that looks great!! I agree on the tail art.. that is very well done and looks so utterly cool... I want to copy it.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ok... ok... ok... I couldn't take the stress.  I mean there it was, just sitting on the shelf next to my Tintin armoured car...  but it just kept staring at me while I was working on my Macchi M.52r...

Wondering, why I loved that little red plane more... why I just didn't care...

So I cracked... I grabbed it off the shelf, ripped out all the rigging... and re-did it with stretched sprues.

I don't have the heart to take more pictures... especially because my clumsy thumbs have also increased the errant CA glue content of this project considerably... but it's done.

So I put it back on the shelf... but this time I turned it away so I only have to look at the lovely little tail piece.  ;D
Thanks!
