BBC1 have just shown an adaptation of David Walliams book, Grandpa's Great Escape. Set in the early 1980's, Grandpa was a Spitfire pilot during the war and his grandson Jack loves all his war stories. Trouble abounds when the old man starts to lose his marbles and traditional silly kid's story hi-jinks ensue....  ;D

It's set in the 1980s with the cars and fashions of the era. Jack builds Airfix Spitfires (looks like 1/48) and uses a nice big brush to paint the inside  .
The newsagents is well stocked with Airfix Magazine and Railway Modeller and other works of the era.

It might not be entirely accurate but it is a good laugh and stars Tom Courtenay, Jennifer Saunders and Michele Dotrice (give yourself a pat on the back for knowing who she is!).

Ooohh, Betty! (though I admit I had to Imdb her... hangs head in shame...)

Very entertaining , really enjoyed this , noticed Airfix Magazine and Aviation News as " top shelf " mags in the newsagents.

Must admit I wasn't expecting much from this but it tickled me, even had a couple of scenes where I was chuckling out loud which is very rare nowadys. Recommended

Yup spotted the Airfix Magazine and railway one.  I thought the Spitfire looked bigger than 1/48th though ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
