The London Underground is getting new rolling stock but have you ever wondered what happened to the old District Line tube trains?
Some of them are being transformed into Overground tube trains and others into multiple units for the rail network. Which are being fitted with toilets, door friendly buttons and new seats. The boogies are being replaced in some cases with battery motors whilst others diesel engines.  Even the  light clusters are getting LEDs seen on buses.
You can buy tube trains in 00/Ho and N scale that will run on standard track or special tracks depending on the manufacture.
For the Whiffer there's endless possibilities in liveries.
For me it's the house colours of Hogwarts school of wizardry.

That's the Vivarail Class 230 project, and they have 1.5 trains converted so far.

The first one caught fire when it was being tested on the Coventry-Nuneaton line, but that problem seems to have been overcome now, and there are a number of potential customers. Vivarail plan battery powered versions as well, so that stock might be seen for some time yet.

Ex-Tube line stock has been used on the Isle-of-Wight railway system for many years now, but that's only a short run these days, sad to say.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I thought they looked familiar ? Never twigged, cheers Kit
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
