Hi Frings,
in November I'm going back to Telford and I'm flying over with a member from my modellingclub, one, we'll arrive in London and then continue to telford, the question is which Good Military and Aviation Museums are there, private collections are also welcome.
Thanks

Imperial War Museum and HMS Belfast, the RAF Museum in Hendon.  Those are just the ones I hit up when I was there in '05 (not counting the trip out to Duxford).

Cosford, the 2nd RAF Museum, is just down the road from Telford too if you have the time.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

RAF Hendon museum is still closed but they are hoping for the opening in July.
There's the De Haviland museum, RAF Uxbridge the  Battle of Britain bunker. Woolwich/Greenwich Maritime museum.

I would have thought that for you Chaos a trip out to Bovington tank museum would have been a must.
Completely in the opposite direction though.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Whilst endorsing what others have said I'll add a couple more.

The Science Museum in S Kensington has some nice exhibits on the history of flight. 10 mins on the tube from Victoria

Then there's the National Army Museum in Chelsea. 10 mins walk from Victoria.

Don't forget to drop by the What If Groups stand when at Telford

And if you go all the way up to the top floor you'll find the veterinary and medical science exhibits fascinating.  Well, I do anyway.

I got lost trying to find my way there...granted it was *way* before Google Maps and smartphones.

It is one of London's "hidden treasures". People know the area more for the Royal Hospital of Chelsea Pensioner fame. Mind you I could direct you from Victoria via the pubs.

I figured when I couldn't find it.  And it wouldn't be the first time I'd been directed via bars/pubs.  Ambulance company I once worked for 20-odd years ago used to give directions to facilities by them...and other adult establishments.

Unique, and an easy day trip by rail from London - Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (http://www.historicdockyard.co.uk/). You have no idea how it hurts a man from Southampton to make the recommendation!

If you have your own transport the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop (https://www.armyflying.com/ at Middle Wallop and Yeovilton (http://www.fleetairarm.com/) are both south west of London via the A303 road (and Stonehenge would be between them)

Also an easy day trip by rail from London  Solent Sky (http://www.solentskymuseum.org/) and SeaCity museum (https://seacitymuseum.co.uk/) in Southampton.

Have a great trip!

There's Croydon Airport and Heathrow museum.
Some light refreshment can be gleaned on the Docklands Light Railway. Or the London Transport Museum Covent Gardens, not forgetting Ruislip lido Railway. Although there's a locomotive at Stratford Station if you are interested and a replica in Windsor Station.

Unless it's change Croydon Airport Museum is only open first Sunday of the month and it's tiny. Mind you some of the talks they have are fascinating. Recently had one on "Croydon and the Zeppelin"
