Bonjour.

I am building a 1/72 jeep which I want to use as an Armée de l'air Tchadienne police dog vehicle.
If it was Australian, British or American it should have "Canine Unit" painted on it but I have been unable to discover what the equivalent signage would be on a vehicle from a French speaking nation.

"Unité canine" is a direct translation but is that what they paint on their vans?

"Brigade canine" would IMHO be applicable.

There's also the more technical term "équipe cynophile", but that's rather intended for search & rescue units.

zenrat

Thanks Dizz.

Brigade Canine will look good across the front below the windscreen.

How about - camionnette de police pour le Woof, Woof ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Van du Chien?

Basically, yes. Mind you putting it your way makes it sound like a mobile loo

OK.  I have made a decision.
I am going with Womby's suggestion of équipe canine simply because it has an accent over the e which IMO makes it look more french.

Merci everyone.
