The Coal War never really warmed up . They were worried a flashpoint would ignite the fighting .

As for the Copper War One side definitely knew they were beaten . A lot of Brass neck was shown when alliances were forged .

Some time in the 50's I was brought home from Great Ormond Street hospital in one of those. BR were on strike (my dad worked for them) so he got one of his striking coleagues to give me and him a lift home in the cab of one of the coal hauling ones.
