Gentlemen this is a very quick reminder that the 2018 Annual One Week Group Build will run from the 9th to the 17th June. So it's just over one week away.

I quite possibly wll not be able to set things up until a couple of days before but that is no great problem as the rules will be the same as in previous years and I have a moderator, cheers Dave.

So start sorting out plastic (or resin) and sharpening those scalpels.

Chris

It's a tough decision to make.  I think the trick is to choose a project with minimal PSR requirements.

Carefully picking a paint scheme is my challenge. Often can not wait a full drying period before doing another color, so single color schemes help.

Think I have the victim kit chosen...

I thought doing a car based whiff could be different.  But it'd have to be one with flat paint and no chrome as I can't guarantee shine and alclad in a week.
Maybe a simple one using a Japanese kerbside kit and give it a monochrome interior and a black, white and flame decals paint job with skulls and a big blower scoop through the bonnet.
Hmmm, that could work.  I need to go and have a dig in the stash.

In the past I've done full resin kits, if you take a Planet or Anigrand one then they are fairly simple in terms of number of parts and go together well. Can be quicker builds then injection plastic weirdly.

However this year I will be doing an Airfix P.40 which will be a simple paint job wif. However in my defence it is a fairly complicated scheme in terms of the number of colours.

Whilst doing this I also have to sort out the first full length GB of the season as well

It's not totally out of the question that I might take part, particularly since an idea I considered but didn't get a chance to use for the Cold War GB, is both simple and novel. However, we shall have to see what the immediate future brings...

I'll probably join with a conversion project. Since "simple" OOB projects with some mods were not a time challenge in recent years, I'll try something more complex, involving rhinoplasty.

I think the OWGB was my first ever GB back around 2005.  I'm excited about this one, and quite conveniently have most of the week off!!  Time for the RNZAF to get back in the tactical game I think!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I don't think I'll be able to join in this year, I'm studying for a course through work and my exams are in July.  If I do it'll be a simple build.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I have an amazingly light work load in the coming week so I'm definitely on board.

I'm at Comic-Con on Satyrday and Model Expo on Monday but as long as I can dodge The Choregiver on Sunday I'm hoping to get stuck into something.

I'll have to pass on this one. My week is booked through Friday. Don't think I'll have time to start one, let alone finish it.
We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
