Back at it now that I have the stuff I need...  good part is I won't need to order in any transfers. In true whif form, I've managed to use the stuff in my stash and it's working out.  I even found a shark mouth and eyes!

This next picture shows the roundel and also is the best shot yet of the paint job:

Not exactly how I planned the paint to be, but I happen to like it, so it'll work!

Some space fighter appropriate numbering:

I can see the light at the end of this... won't be long. Been working on it something like 8 months now.

Moving along! I glossed the weapons that needed it, and also the gear doors. No more glossing will need to be done for the rest of the build! After the transfers are are on, I'm going to finish it with my matte clear.

I went ahead and glued on the tail planes. I put them on differently than how the kit would have me do it. Looks just fine. That's it for now, though. Should be done in no more than a week or so, and likely sooner.

I was supposed to be done with this today, but I wasted all afternoon talking s#!t to trolls on facebook.  ;D ;D ;D

ANYWAY...

I still managed to get some more transfers on. Quite a few on the plane itself, but I'll hold off on pictures until the Big Reveal so as not to spoil it... that said, here's some of the "hangy things" and the gear doors:

Lousy BS picture but oh well. I tried.

SO.... I'm done with the tiniest of tiny little stencils and I'm moving up a size into some that are still tiny, but more manageable. There's about 24 of them but I think I can do groups at a time to take some of the pain away. After that, there are just a few more then I can get back into the main markings. SHOULD be done tomorrow but who knows what the future holds at this point!   ;D

Done with all the decalling (sans the det cord). Done with all the gear doors and ordnance....   all that remains now is to put the last clear coat on, remove the canopy masking (and clean that up, I guarantee you some of my "wash" snuck under the tape), apply the det cord transfer,  then later glue on the remaining clear pieces and she's done!!

I'm in no hurry at this point. I'd like to get the clear coating done tonight, as I've already warmed up the can, but it's been a long, productive day and I don't feel like doing anything else. I'll likely have a tiny bit of paint touch up after gluing on the clear pieces, as well. I guess there's a wee bit more to be done than it looks like but it's still not much.

Looks good Brad C.
I like the marbled/mottled effect your special effects wash has given the dark green.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'd call that GLORIOUS!!  ;)
What's that crazy wash you used? Never heard of a green and silver wash but the result looks great!
Like i've said before, you did an excellent job on this, love all the details and the mods.

Thanks y'all!!! I just mixed up equal parts green and silver paint then watered it down really thin then washed it onto black base coat...I did this pre-gloss so it "stuck" better. Did the best I could to not have brush strokes in it yet have variations. 2-3 coats worth and it turned into this!  Pretty neat. In the sunlight, you can just make out the subtle sparkle of the silver paint, it's quite nice. It's not how I envisioned it but the the green with the greys/silvers makes for a nice combo.

This thing is funny (in fact, more than a few on FB are laughing at it, which I find hilarious and it doesn't bother me any... I get it!! It's quite ridiculous  ;D  )... I get the impression a lot of folks don't know what to think of it. Am I making fun of certain individual or in support of certain individual?  It's neither, really, I just like the idea of a new branch of military!
