The Draken was such an awesome aircraft for its time, what if the US had purchased a few squadrons, perhaps to use as agressors (like they did later with the F-21 Kfir).

I'm going to have to get back to my "Super-Draken" efforts - starting with the proposed J79-powered version, add Fieri-inlets, ala' F-105 and it will look quite aesthetically attractive and wicked.

A Super Draken - now THAT will be interesting - sounds great, and I'm looking forward to photos.  With F-105-type intakes it should be a very good looking bird.

It's funny; in US markings, to my eye, it looks a bit like an upgraded F-102 or -106.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

It'll be a step-wise process with drawing production the initial step.  The first order is to scan in the side view of the J79-powered version from the WAPJ article and then start working with scaling down the inlets from a F-105 to fit (planning on doing this in 1/72 and hvae a 1;/144 F-105 set aside as a "donor" (might mkae it as a F-105A, then, with out the Fieri intakes).  A good CAD program is going to be a help here and I've got one.
