My comment wasn't so much as aimed at your piece in particular H, but making use of your pointing out the "allegedlies" to enable me to point out the dangers of the Web. It's a wonderful tool when used correctly, but also so easy to manipulate.

No that's fine Chris: I understood where you were coming from. I actually saw the PPrune comments and RAF statement copied on Twitter("X" ) at first, but then went back to check them at source after you'd posted.

We've had a slew of examples recently of incorrect stories gaining "legs" then being corrected, mistakes getting amplified, and straight-up biased reporting from both the mainstream and the alternative media.

And it seems the corrections are usually labelled as 'inaccurate', or 'Spin to try to mask the TRUTH!'...
