Hawker FK-1 Fury

In 1943 the US Navy was looking for a successor to the F6F Hellcat. Primary candidate was the Grumman F8F Bearcat but Hawker Aircraft from the United Kingdom proposed the new Sea Fury fighter to the US Navy.

After a prolonged competition the Hawker design won out over the Grumman and in October 1944 2000 Furies were ordered, to be built under licence by De Havilland in Canada.

Very nice Tom

(side note: Hawker already had a company in Canada, called Avro [actually, Victory Aircraft])
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Very nice!  Looks so much better than the Bearcat.

I just logged on to upload my completed Sea Fury pics...I was torn between real world and a USMC Whif.  I went real world, but if I hadn't we wold both be posting blue US Furies at the same time!  lol

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Very nice, Tom!  She looks great in USMC livery, and you did a great job.  Neat backstory too.

Do you mind if I ask what decals you used here?  They sure laid down well and look awesome.

Best regards,
Kem

Decals came from the spares box. I think they are from xtradecal sheet for the F4U.
