Camper Boats

I thought this was a genuine whiff that combines the small caravan/campervan on a boat hull that is attached to a trailer or amphibious trailer. Power comes from an outboard engine when on the water and can accommodate up to six adults.
Not so, the Brits,Germans, Italians, Japanese and  the Americans have been building these since the 1970's.
At first they did use a small caravan and bolt a small hull or triple hull for stability. Then put this on a trailer so you can tow it behind a car or campervan to a lake or harbor.
Some designs stow the helm away to add more sleeping space.
The granddaddy of them all  is the (H) Conte which is a five seater amphibious camper based on the European Ford Granada. Either in a soft or hard top. This never made it to mass production.
There are a few amphibious vehicles that could be adapted into the Camper Boat by the modeler.
These are usually small craft, so the VW campervans/ microbus is a good starting point. A suitable hull could come from a plastic container or toy boat.
You can now get the 1/24 or 1/25 Ford Transit model kit. Even the black taxi would be a likely whiff with the rear removed and a deck added.
Reference includes the Sea camper and Sea Lander ranges.

Heck, eve Richard Hammond, aka Hamster, of earlier Top Gear fame managed to build one.
What would be impressive would be converting one of the bus-sized campers, like a Winnebago.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

I've got an Italeri Ford Transit kit, and very good it is too.

But I rather think it's more likely to end up with a GT40 engine and running gear in the back for the Racing GB than be turned into a camper boat.  ;) ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You should think big:

Caravan on a DUKW would work.
However, I have a 1/35ish motorhome body (AMT 1/25 but its woefully underscale) and a Hobby Boss AAVR-7 Assault Amphibian...

There is something rather doleful about that Southampton.  Sort of like seeing a thoroughbred racehorse giving kids rides on the beach.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
