Oscar EW-5894 Fallus

Here is my latest completion. Now the question is this a WHIFF or a RW aircraft? The Oscar Fallus is a fictional aircraft from the movie Hot Shots. But the plane in the movie is a Folland Gnat with spurious markings.

So feel free to debate the question. But meanwhile, here are some photos.








This is the new Airfix 1/72 Folland Gnat. It is a nice kit with decent detailing, a good fit, and easy to assemble. The finish is hand brushed Testors enamel Light Ghost Gray with a little pastel chalks for some light weathering. The markings are actually from the kit. A little humor from the folks at Airfix.

I haven't seen the movie but I also picked up this kit because of the decals.

Actually a long probe came with the kit, but somewhere in the build process I lost it. So this is a stretched spruce replacement.
