Two excellent videos from Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons channel going into great detail about the Stoner weapons system.

The Stoner 63/63A/M-23 was a modular gun system where the same basic reciever could be reconfigured as a carbine, rifle, Bren-style LMG, belt-feed LMG, tripod-mounted medium MG or co-axial-mount MG.
