It seems the Tornado ancestors are dated 1945 by Panavia Aviazone.
Retired in 1946.

You are right, I did not realize the PC-21 had such small wings:

And seen from above, the fin with extension looks like a big fin, yes.

I presume the idea is to make it handle more like a jet so it can take on an even bigger share of the training sylabus.
