Ever wondered how we know when a country is ignoring international sanctions and trading illegally?
The BBC has this article on tracking ships at sea https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47046979

Makes you wonder just how stealthy our warships can be nowadays  :-\

I do hate how 'AI' has become modern shorthand for 'programmed logic'.  An AI is meant to learn from its environment over time so that it can extrapolate from past experience; most of what was discussed in that article is just identifying common signals and flagging them for human response.

I was also wondering about the ethics of tracking such blockade-runners.  Shouldn't that be up to the nation-states that have placed the embargo?  Out-sourcing compliance makes embargos easier and cheaper to deploy.  Not like the old expensive days of ships and Shackletons patrolling off Beira, back then you had to be REALLY serious before thinking about an embargo.

I wonder if this would be useful tracking drug shipments?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
