I am going to create an airplane from remaining parts. It will be coded F14F, the F13F being the F-14 Tomcat it seems.
From 1/72 parts in the spare box:
wings Heller Mustang see http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,46250.0.html
fuselages front and rear Unicraft Kogiken III see http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,46283.0.html
flap/tailplane Unicraft YL-15 see http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,46371.0.html

Starting with glue, cutting and the very first putty:

More putty on the "fuselage"/pod and the booms have been prepared (from sprues):

First sanding then putty again:

Scratchbuilding the successor of the Tomcat is not easy... ;)

Second sanding then another putty addition:

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yes, the pod of a pod-&-booms airplane is often like a cannolo (and the fuselage of a normal plane is like a sausage) ;D
But no more focusing on the pod, the complete aircraft is taking shape:

Painting the underside:

I forgot to say: the jet nozzle came from the J.29 Tunnan kit, in the same thread as the Mustang:

Completion will be achieved tomorrow probably.

The F14F Sparecat is finished, succeeding to the Tomcat with high success: ;)

I like the twin boom butterfly tail concept.

Isn't it a flutterbly that way up?  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thanks!
I am not the inventor of this layout: I know 27 families of airplanes with this feature.
My favorite is the FS-28 Avispa: http://aviadejavu.ru/Site/Crafts/Craft34218.htm

Oh yes, that's a lovely looking aeroplane.

Akaflieg Stuttgart produced some amazingly radical designs in their time.

Not the least of which was the FS-29, a sailplane that had EXTENDING wings!

It could extend from 43 ft out to 62 ft, an aircraft designed after my own heart.  ;D
