At Mach 5, there is almost no need of wings, that was the principle of the piloted missile PXX-38 Rocket Lightning (ancestor of X-3 and F-104):

Now THAT would look really good in plastic!  :thumbsup:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

And VTOL tailsitters also don't need much span, as low speed lift is provided by the propeller becoming rotor:
