If you are being followed by a silver BMW it's wise to keep the speed down. I saw a pair of cops get out of one at Achnasheen - checking to see if the coffee shop was open on Bank Holiday Monday (it wasn't!).

It would be interesting to compare the rate at which they issued tickets both before and after that event, and also if said coffee shop got a visit from the local councils health and safety department on the Tuesday ?

I'd have responded sooner, but there was a trouble with the wi-fi password, so ... :-)

Your wife set it to your anniversary date, didn't she! ;D ;)

No, it's the one for the rented house's network - some justifiable confusion as to the hand-printing.  Are those "5"s or "S"s?  Upper-case all, or just how the writer does things?  Contact numbers were about two years out of date ... In the end I pretty much gave up.

Back home now.  Of the 7 days I was gone, 4 (two at each end) were just traveling - 7-hr flights, with all the two-hours before and traffic getting there nonsense; 7-hrs on the train up/down.

We took the train from Aviemore to/from Inverness.  Thoroughly shopped the Victorian Market.  Never found a model shop - local contact said the only one now is in Dingwall, but without wheels or local-bus knowledge it was a bit far for the time available.

Got in at 1am London time.  Good thing my step-daughter was driving - I fell asleep in the car on the way home.  Got up late (for me) - 0530 - after the first really comfortable kip in a week.  Nothing like the old beddie-bye!  :)

Thank-you all!  :)  My wife and I hope to return to Scotland next year - this time on our own, and maybe a car rental.  We'll see.  :)

The end of April is when the Scottish Nationals are on in Perth so that would be a good time to visit and you would meet a few of us into the bargain

The one in the market closed down about 3 years ago. It certainly wasn't there in 2017 and had limited stock in 2015.

That's what the Market's Manager told us.  Apparently a model train store is going in that space, but not up and running yet.  :)

No worries - I got all shopped out anyway.  I really like charity shops - so much better than the US equivalent.  I get my best CDs from charity shops. :)  Books, too.  Oh, you have to take the time to really look, and the pickings are not fat nor frequent - but when the penny drops, so to speak, the finds are amazing.  :)  No models, of course, but kids' toys can be very greeblie-esque.
