NARSES2

The Elstree Model Show Sunday 9th June, at Allum Manor House and Hall, 2 Allum Lane,  Elstree, Borehamwood, WD6 3PJ.

My regular update from Hannants mentioned this new London show on Sunday 9th June.

It looks to be right next to the station  So assuming trains are running I shall be venturing a trip as there are so few shows held in this part of the country. If nothing else it will give me a chance to pre-order and stock up on some paints I'm running low on.

Just down the road from the old Elstree Film and TV studios as well.

Nick

It is quite possible that I can make this show.

NARSES2

Well that would be 3 of us then

Train times checked, all being well I'll be there about 10:30. I have a rather heavy package to pick up from Hannants

Good to catch up with Chris and Nick today at what should be seen as the successor to the sadly defunct Hendon shows - a joint IPMS Barnet and IPMS Harrow effort.  Very good first show, small cross-section of IPMS branch and trade stalls that I think has potential to grow.

Hall was the right size for a first time, some more tables could have been fitted in easily and perhaps next year a What If SIG presence?

No pics from me I'm afraid.

This was a good show with a strong turn out of clubs from London, Essex, Herts, Berks and Hants. Allum Hall is a good sized local community hall and theatre. There were several traders around the walls (Hannants, LittleCars, Models for Sale and 4 second hand dealers) and a large island for the many club displays in the middle.

For their first show they did well. Only downside was very limited parking on site (can't be helped) and a lack of signage to the venue which they can address next year.

We should consider a What-if SIG table next year if we can organise ourselves. 3 or 4 of us could fill a 6ft double stand easily. I think the organisers said to ask them later in the year.

Yup it was a very good effort for a first show. Thoroughly enjoyed myself even if I did talk to much..sorry lads  :-X

Tell me about it  ;) Strangely whilst going home I noticed that there was a large graphic map of the area, including the venue, outside the station. Unfortunately I'd had my head buried in my printed one from internet so Hadn't noticed it  :banghead:

Yup, when I was talking to them as I left they said that they were looking at going to  a series of squares in the middle row to get some more clubs in.
