Air Progress

I've added some images to my Yahoo photo page from the August/September and October/November1964 issues of Air Progress.  There are images of either art or mockups of various competitors in the Navy/Air Force/Marine LARA/COIN program.  I also included a couple of images of the Kaman UH-2 Tomahawk that was evaluated by the Army.  The UH-2 was Kaman's equivalent to the Bell UH-1.  I read somewhere that the Army liked the UH-2, and ordered a number of them to serve alongside the Huey, but the orders were cancelled after President Johnson was sworn into office (they weren't made in Texas!).

Cool, thanks.  Anyone have ideas on the simplest way to model the CV-10 transport?  I've been wanting to do at least one of those for ages, most likely in 1/48 to use one of the old Hawk kits (metal-plated one had some great decals).  Beyond that, I will have to look more closely at the Martin LARA, that does look good.  I found it interesting that the UH-2 had swiveling nose guns, I wonder if that relates to the same program that produced the AH-47?

Sweet !

Thanks for sharing.....and getting us all wound up with twin-boom concepts !

And Eb, I'm not sure of the scaling issues, as it may be rather large, but a Flying Boxcar fuselage was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Cheers !

I added a new photo from Air Progress March 1969.  It's a mockup of Cessna's proposed turboprop O-2 with tandem seating.  I understand that the Air Force liked the idea, but no one bought it.  The one O-2 that was converted to turboprops was eventually converted back to piston engines.

Interesting.  I wonder how much, if any, of that wound up in the one and only 327?
