Amiot 143 Assembly Ship?

I've often been tempted to get the Anigrand kit of the Pack Plane, and then I look at my bank account and have 2nd thoughts.

But the thing's fascinated me since I read an article about it in the Meccano Magazine a zillion years ago. It's such a logical idea, and I must admit it influenced me greatly in building my Rotocrane last year.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Wasn't the Miles M68  a smaller UK version of the Pack-plane?  There's a pic here:-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_M.68   of a 1930's saloon car towing the "air-trailer" away.
