Before the P-5456 was flown (and built in 35,000 copies scale 1), a feasibility prototype was the XP-5455, even more asymmetric:

Seeing the sources, it seems I have failed in respecting instructions, like a (damned?) what-ifer... Shame on me! :-\ ;D

That's truly awesome Tophe.

Will it stay sand colour or switch to your usual pale blue later on?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thanks!
I think it will stay like that because zero putty this time (I am very happy of that)
But when I turn to the other part of the same kit, the XB-31 part, there will be truncation and massive putty thus paint, sky blue yes. But not here.

In the same family, with the same unusual colours were many other derivatives.
The P-54455 & P-54466 below had lost both twin-boom layout and asymmetry, so (as a punishment) each of them was ordered in less than 10,000 copies:

And many more to come...

The twin-boom layout was restored on the P-54455B and P-54466B

Thanks a lot!

The next ones are just twin-pod flying wings, not twin-boomers:

They are coded XP-555 and XP-566, they are different (push-pull mainly) from the XP-55Z and XP-56Z.

Thank you!

Fortunately, there were twin-boom versions P-555T and P-566T:

Without engine in the nose of the XP-54 component, there was the same process: the XP-5445 with 4 booms was rejected and General Tophe Sr ordered the twin-boom P-5445T in 12,000 copies (this is easy with taxpayers' money): ;)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks!

The beginning of this family was maybe the XP-54Z aka XP-544, refused by the USAAF because having 4 booms but mass ordered as P-544A in a twin-boom version: <_<
