Hi all,
My main modelbuilding focus is warbirds. One I completed last year is the lovely old Mauve 1/48 P-40M with OldModels Decals markings for A29-448, a P-40N-1 that was recovered from Tadji in PNG by Charles Darby and restored to fly here in NZ. Today she flies with a second seat and some dual instrumentation and controls, and even has all six .50cal machineguns in working order...albeit firing blanks. Always a big hit with the crowds at Wanaka. She wears the serial A29-1050 on the starboard side for no known reason except it was that way when she was recovered, and is on the NZ civil register as ZK-CAG.

So here she is, I hope you enjoy this slice of Aussie wartime history that has been happily flying in New Zealand for almost 20 years.

Very good.  Even if it is in the wrong scale.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That SWP Theatre scheme is one of my favourite WWII ones. Nice job Zac
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I decided a while ago that NZ warbird models will be 1/48 (except for DC-3s and the Catalina) while pretty much everything else will be 1/72!

That doesn't make it right.
;)

I quite like the look of ZK-CAG when she had teeth.  I may build one this way.

Did the RAAF realy name it a "Currawong" ?
The story is that several aircraft from this squadron received nose-art based on the aircraft's individual letter, in this case C. From memory Currawong was a choice by the restorers of this aircraft made in that spirit.
