As the search for the weapons load for my Canberra F10 has yielded a total lack of success, I'm interested in getting hold of a couple more 1/72 Hobbycraft Scorpion kits.

That's both the wing tip mounted Falcon armed F-89H and the Genie missile armed F-89J please.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

And then what you need to build next is a Scorpion zwilling! I don't think it's ever been done before.......

To broaden your search, the Genies (2!) in the Revell F-101B Voodoo are quite nice and crisp.  Only two Falcons in the kit however but they are quite clever as a two-piece structure with a bit of the pylon molded in.

Keeping mine, but hope this helps as there don't seem to be many kits with the Genies, and you can never have enough Genies!

I didn't know that Dave, thanks for the info.

That Voodoo kit may be more available than the Hobbycraft Scorpion too.

AlleyKat do some Genies in resin, but they do seem to take an age to fulfil your orders.

The normal size Scorpion is a BIG aeroplane, it makes an F-16 look like a toy, so an F-89Z would be GINORMOUS!

But I like the idea anyway.  ;D

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I have quite a few surplus ones from hasegawa weapons sets and from  kits over the years.  I can spare you some if you want some Kit.

Just had a nosey in the attic:

My Hobbycraft one is an F-89C, so no good.

My Academy one is an F-89J with Genies and Falcons, and it's untouched, so I'd really rather keep it.

My Revell one is an F-89 D/J with wingtip rocket pods, underwing Falcons and Genies. It's half-built (by someone else) and I only bought it dirt cheap for bits anyway. I used the big tip tank/RP pods as bulges on my HMS Tantalus submarine. I want to keep the kit for bits, but I'll happily send you the pods and missiles. Let me know.

It's the Genies I need, two of them, plus the BIG pods from an F-89H.

That's the ones with the Falcons on pop-out racks, but I don't need the Falcons as I'm replacing them with Firestreaks, which I already have.

I also need a couple of Red Deans, which I had at one time, but I can't find out who did them.  :banghead: I thought it was Colin Frieghtdog, but there's no mention of them on the FD web site.

Yeah the -H is the one variant I don't have covered. On second look, those big tip tanks I used on the sub were the pure fuel ones from the -J.

I can certainly spare you a couple of Genies. DM me if you want to take me up on it 'cos I might miss a thread reply.

Freightdog did do the Red Deans: I've got a couple, but they're not spare I'm afraid.

They are part of the Canberra P12 conversion set which is probably out of stock at the moment, best to email Colin directly
