...Looking at the markings chart for the AZ Kingfisher kit, can you spot the mistake?  ;D..

The AZ scheme doesn't include the tricolore on the vertical tail.  Don't assume the stamp is correct though.

I like to think that in Whiffworld the HMAS Wyatt Earp was the first of the Australian Navy's Sheriff class small seaplane tender.

Good spot, but there's a more basic one than that... ;D ;)

It says orange....but shows yellow?
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

You are too kind Sir, I hope you can feel the reciprocal warmth of my appreciation of your praise!

Oddly enough, if I remember rightly, the Antarctic ski-equipped Auster that Airfix used to model had the same issue

When it visited the Antarctic, it was in Orange, but it was modelled in yellow, but I have vague memories that was because it received a repaint before appearing at an RAF 'open day' and was modelled based on it's new appearance?

Rheged

I've got one of those Austers in the stash.  Partly assembled by someone else, I found it in a charity shop in a poly sandwich bag priced as "Donation please".  I must dig it out some day.

Great subject! and unknow to me.  I am familiar with the US "Operation High Jump" conducted around the same time.

I hate painting yellow, never had much luck with it.

Undercoat with pink.

Seriously, this is not a joke, it works. Try it on a test sample to prove it to yourself.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup, but make sure it's a fairly pale pink.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Depends on the shade of yellow too, of course.

I used Humbrol Flesh and it worked a treat.

PR19_Kit

We're back in the 'who sees which colour how?' business again................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards

I see your yellow and raise you orange!

I'm presuming that this is the orange the Kingfisher should (might?) be

Weaver

I'm fine with the idea that the colour of the Kingfisher might have actually been orange (probably more sensible), but it's STILL a mistake for a kit company to put 'orange' in a text and then 'yellow' in a colour key that both relate to the same picture... ;D
