Nice.  Longer wings would give room for a decent number of weapons pylons.
For some reason I can visualise it in Swedish Fields and Meadows.

I agree that longer wings would useful.  However, remember this was a technology demonstrator not a production machine.  I think a pair of engines in the rear fuselage would make it go quicker.  However that means you end up with an American XF-109.
