Hi All

Well there is a back story involving a 'perfect storm' of Pembroke retirement due to fatigue failure, Canadian political reasons for NATO involvement needing a boost and US willingness to solve both by funding the purchase of DHC-6s for the RAF. This particular example was flown by No.60 Squadron on the spy flights along the air corridors to Berlin.

Shouldn't it have camera hatches in the underside?  ;)

Oh, perhaps it has, and they're closed.  ;D

I could tell you Kit, but then as they say ......I'd have to kill you!  ;)

(Maybe I should have distracted you by fitting longer wings!  ;D)

Love it!   For some reason the Twotter is one of my favorite aircraft.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hehehehe.  ;D

The Twotter has quite a hefty wing span anyway, nicely proportioned I reckon.

Well somewhere in the depths of both my mind and my stash I have (at least) another Twotter (with the ski option) and a Dornier 228-polar (also with skis as an option) My half thought out plan is to have the two aircraft on comparative trials as the new support aircraft for the British Antarctic Territories. The camouflage scheme would be based on the Westland Lynx HAS.3ICE, basically Grey with red patches. However with those nice 'plank-like' wings and the need for high visibility on the ice/snow of Antarctica I can see the upper wing surfaces being a grey/red version of target tug type stripes  ;D
