Now you have me wanting to try that in 1/72 ... someone gave me a Blue Angels set of 4 Phantom IIs molded in dark blue ...

Where am I going?  And why am I in a handbasket?

Thanks a lot for this great approval! You could easily do better with your skills and I am not even jealous. ;D

Now the Phantom 5 model is finished!: <_<

(This was a Phantom 2, I swear it was, before "improvement")

With that layout, you could have two jet engines and a single rocket above and in-between them... because with 40% less airframe weight, it's obviously still not fast enough... ;)
The view from the rear shows I have followed (imperfectly, sorry) this good idea (Copyright Weaver, how many £ billions?)  ;D

Another idea: instead of refitting the tail fin, cut the outer wing panels off and re-mount them vertically as twin, wingtip fins.
The wingtip fins (well displayed on the views below) are also a good idea of Weaver, yes thanks a lot! <_<

It seems I have not respected the instruction sheet, like if I were a what-ifer, what a shame! :-\
I must apologize: the instruction sheet was lost, eaten by the dog (I have no dog but maybe the dog of neighbours), yes? acceptable? <_<

I like the look of that, very 'Star Wars' looking.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Thanks!

For the export market, it is famous that France had refused the Phantom 2 and refused also the Phantom 5, but USSR ordered 5,000 copies of the Phantom 5 (alas no approval from the US Congress). At last, France (with the influence of General Tophe Sr) ordered 100 copies of Twin-Phantom 5 (see below), used till 2012:

That's brilliant, and  it wouldn't  look out of place  in an episode of Buck Rodgers  either as one of the bad guys  raiders

My thoughts exactly
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks to all <_<
Your approval makes me decide my next model will be another modern (cheap 1/144) jetplane turned short. This will probably be the Chinese J-8 II of Academy (MiG-21 with a MiG-23 nose). To be confirmed, in July maybe.
