Magnificent!

A tiny request: In story, replace Stettin with Gdynia. In 1939 Stettin belonged to the Third Reich.

Polish authorities were interested in 1939
- in France: MS.406 (120 pieces were bought) and Breguet 693 (because they had bought 300 Gnome-Rhone 14M engines before, but they were finally abandoned, perhaps due to distant delivery times),
- in the UK Blenheim Mk.I (because they bought a license for the Bristol Mercury VIII engine and launched its production), but finally agreed to Fairey Battle (faster delivery).

Very nice!!  I'm realizing that in about 44 years of modeling I have NEVER built a Hurricane.  Such a pretty little plane...I may need to remedy this situation soon...your build is inspiration to break the one in my stash out.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Actually a Hurricane is quite large, it TOWERS over a Spitfire.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've done it, but is it possible that the shipment was routed via Stettin as Germany and Poland were still at peace in the August ?

Thank you very much for that  I now have one or two definite ideas

That brown is certainly a change from every other scheme I've seen a Hurricane wearing, and it looks good!

It's officially Polish Khaki Ratty. According to Hataka there was a dark variant used on bombers and the light variant used on fighters and recce types. Both shades are included in their Polish AF set.

Excellent model of a "nearly was" - it looks really right

Excellent work Chris.  Definitely going to pursue my own rag-wing Hurri whif idea now.

This is unlikely.
For two reasons:
- from May 1939, Germany did everything to maximally impede all deliveries of arms and equipment through its country to Poland.
- what's more, it would be against the British position. One of the delivery conditions was to avoid transit through Germany so that the equipment did not fall into their hands.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

And one more remark (but not criticism) regarding Polish Khaki in 1939:
  - indeed at the beginning of the light variant used on fighters and recce types. Even the first PZL 37 were painted that way. Only that with time the camouflage lost its properties and the machines were getting brighter.
Therefore, in 1939, a darker variant was tried for new machines and those coming back from renovation.
It happened at the PZL P.11c restaurant at the Aviation Museum in Krakow. ;)
