My Finnish Air Force R.A.F. SE.5aF.

The Royal Aircraft Factory SE.5a in Finnish service:

The Royal Aircraft Factory's R.A.F. SE.5a was one of the best Great War fighter aircraft. After the war, the RFC found itself with a surplus of the SE.5a fighters, and sent them to Russia with the British and American forces fighting along side the White Russian forces. After the Russian and Finnish Civil Wars had ended, the SE.5s were left with Finland to help support its new fledgling air force. Originally, they had been turned over to Finland with weapons removed. So the Finns bought surplus Spandau machine guns from Germany to arm them, and flew them till the late 1920's.

Did this one while living with my parents before my wife and I got our first apartment. I used facial tissue for the snow and a backdrop on my Dad's model railroad layout for the Finnish countryside.

Very nice. Wonder if side mounted Vickers like the Bristol Bulldog would have been feasible for the SE5a.

That should work.
In Real Life, Finland was practically without a fighter force until 1923. Then, some purchases were made from France and UK.

I wonder what part of Lapland the background might fit. The tissue works well as snow.

NARSES2

I like that

Plausible scenario as well
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nice work.. given the wide range of Aircraft the Finns used.. very plausible

Nice build, beautiful camo and unspired use of a tissue!
Whatever.

That's nice! Any chance for a pic without effects?

Thomas, are you asking for unmodified pictures? Those would be the first 7 pictures, but if you're asking for pictures of the model without the background and tissue, it's at my dad's house and I'll try to get some later

Tophe

Nice model! (usually I prefer later aircraft, more aerodynamic, but ski undercarriage is rare and pleasant, thanks)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Ah, O.K. The pics look quite grainy and yellwo-ish, so it'd hard to tell the "true" colors.
