My good friend Ian from Stargazer Models is a keen fan of all things space, so he started mastering up a Falcon 9 for himself.
I managed to talk him into (read bribe with a couple of pints  ;) ) getting a copy of his work.
Not much to it, the engine housing, engine bells, landing legs, Mesh Control fins and the Dragon capsule and adaptor, all in old school resin except the fins which are resin printed. The rest is just plastic card/rod/strip.
Then find some 25mm pressure tubing for the rest of it.

Spacex on the rocket body is masking. Always good to have great mates and one has one of those Silhouette printers that can cut masks

This build has been going on and off for a few months, finally decided to post it up.

Pretty much finished.
The Falcon 9 logo, Dragon capsure are all home made decals using some source artwork. As is the US Flag. Really only needs the NASA on the second stage.

Pretty sure this does not represent any particular block of vehicle, but it gets the point across.
And a whole lot cheaper than any of the currently available commercial offerings. ;)

Nice, but way too clean for one of the first stages currently in use. At the time or writing the most number of reuses of a booster is twenty!

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yeah, I don't think they bother to repaint the boosters anymore.

This looks very nice. How tall is it

Still room for a bit of weathering up. Most of the online pictures I found easily where of relatively new block units by the looks of it and all pristine. But a bit of reuse look can give it character over your standard older single use vehicle

Stands around 49cm tall.
I will stick it in a corner somewhere  ;)

Nice!

Maybe you could use the method from The Hobbit and have it hung horizontally to be used as a towel rail, or something?
(referencing how the Black Arrow was hidden in plain sight).  ;)
