Sometime ago when I used to frequent The Airfix Tribute Forum, there was a vendor there who had posted a thread about his airfield backdrops and runway/taxiway scenes to pose your models with. For the life of me I can't remember the name of it, I wonder if anyone here knows what that company is called ?

Those look fantastic Tom, but it's not the one. I one I'm thinking of is the scenes are just on printed sheets of paper or cardboard. They're not too expensive either from what I can remember ---

Last night I suddenly woke up and realized that I had remembered the company name, (it's been on my mind for a while). The name Coastal something or other was running through my head ---- so this morning I did a web search and I've found what I'm looking for.

The name of the company is called Coastal Kits and is in the UK.

Both are good, I have procured stuff from both Noy (from Israel, printed on thin cardboard - these are actually phots of real dioramas) and Coastal Kits (printed on laminated foamed styrene, a bit glossy for my taste).

I love their floatplane ramp display base.  :wub:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's nice - I have already used it for my Gladiator Seaplane, but it only "works" when you look upon it from directly above. It's also pretty small - more than the 1:72 Gladiator won't work.  :-\
The problem with all these ground plate prints is that they are all flat - they look good in catalogue pictures, but when you come close or look at them at a shallow angle, they are rather ridiculous than worthy. That's a general problem, and that's why I frequently glue them onto a board and add 3D details like grass, tarmac seams, and dust - without, I would not use them for photography diorama scenes.
