There was much room in the Andover either. Bagged a flight from RAF Northolt to fly over London just before they were retired from service.
An VC10 AEW lookalike using my 1/100 Playfix model.

Got another kitbash on the go. I've named it the HS Vulpine- HS Nimrod fuselage (Airfix kit, bomb bay roof turned over. So it arches, longer weapons bay.) Airfix Vulcan wings without the engines. Tristar 1/100 kit T-tail and engine. Engines are to be fixed to the rear. Four Conways from VC-10iski. Landing gear will be from the Vulcan kit.

There were proposals based on BAC 1-11 and Trident in the competition that led to Nimrod. They were very different to the airliners, with different wings, engines, modified fuselages.

I built one of the BAC 1-11 AEW versions. The thread is here and I really should get around to finishing the other three from the build thread.

You might have seen this before.

It's based on the Revell/Matchbox HP Victor K2 with the resin conversion set BAe Nimrod AEW.3 and the glazing on the cockpit canopy came from the Academy Boeing KC-97G kit.
This is another kitbash (first one I sold) based on the 1/72 Airfix Boeing
B-29 with the cockpit from a B-17G. Triple tail fins and rotodome are from a Grumman E-2 Hawkeye ,the nose came from the David J.Parkins JSTARS conversion set, turboprop engines are from a C-130.
I think I called this the Boeing Wyton AEW.1
