ScaleFest 2007 will be in Grapevine this year instead of at the exhibition halls of the Mesquite Rodeo Arena. It will be at the Grapevine Convention Center located 1209 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.  The facility contact information is: Phone - 817-410-3459. This is a more central location for the DFW area than the Mesquite location.

I will have a vendor table at ScaleFest with my prints- the theme of the show this year is the Vietnam War and I hope to have at least one, possibly two Vietnam War-themed prints available as well as the rest of my other prints that I've done to date.

Stop by and check 'em out and if you don't buy one, I have some big goon friends on hand to shake you down if necessary!  :D

Looks like a convenient 30-45 minute drive from the west side of Fort Worth.  I hope to see you there.

The only question is whether I'll be by myself or if SWMBO will accompany me (back when I was working intense overtime, we managed to make several IMPS/USA nationals).

For those attending, don't forget the Squadron Mail Order Open House Friday May 25 and Saturday May 26 800am-500pm both days. If you haven't ever been to Squadron's open house, do try and make it, their warehouse in Carrollton (address is 1115 Crowley Drive, Carrollton, Texas 75006) just south of SH190 and Old Denton Road is a treat- shelves and shelves of models, supplies, books, magazines, aftermarket parts, etc. They are also carrying diecast models now as well and last year they let some of us open up Corgi's 1/32 scale Mosquito and boy THAT was an impressive hunk of metal.

I usually go on the day of ScaleFest, but since I have a vendor table, I'm trying to work my schedule to try and go to Squadron on Friday, most likely in the afternoon.

Was able to get out to the Squadron Mail Order open house this morning- but because of the kids' last day of school activities schedule and having to work in the afternoon, I only had an hour and a half this AM to go there.

Got there at 745am (doors opened at 800am) and there was already a line of folks out in the parking lot!

Since time was of the essence for me today, I decided I would just focus my efforts on getting books, hitting the sale tables as well as the stacks to add to the aviation/warship library.

Did pretty good (unless you're my wallet). Came out with 20 different books from OKB Tupolev, a bunch of Ginter and Squadron books and the new E.E. Canberra Warpaint book.

If anyone's coming to ScaleFest tomorrow, stop by my table and say hi. I won't be hard to miss. I'll have one new print available as well as some works in progress and upcoming stuff to show.

I dropped by mid-afternoon, and spoke to a thirty-ish white guy with a big beer gut. I mentioned the "What-If board" and he gave me a dazed look like I had suddenly turned transparent.

Obviously, it wasn't you...............

Sorry 'bout that, that was a friend who was helping me. I probably had stepped away for a bit to use the rest room.........
