A few years ago I had the idea of painting the old Triang 00 gauge  Midland Blue Pullman brown umber and cream. It seems that due to the lockdown other people have the same idea as the stocks of the two paints are in high demand.
I have been lucky enough to acquire a power car, dummy car and a coach in reasonable condition but I intend to paint alternative liveries on dummy power cars.
A Whatif all the bugs were ironed out and other train companies or used on more British Rail  routes had used them on a regular basis.
Sort pre-HST 125.

The  Northern  Belle  has beaten me to this idea in it's new  livery brown and cream Pullman.

The Pullmans, the diesel units I mean, suffered from the most appalling ride in the leading trailer cars due to rubbish design of the bogies. They should have fitted the power car bogies all through the train, but without the traction motors in the trailing cars.

We made exactly the same mistake with the APT-E and scrapped the original articulated bogie design, then made new ones using the power car bogies but without traction motors.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've often wondered why they didn't improve the ride quality or offer them to more of the lines?

As usual it would have cost too much at that time I guess.

I have managed to free the clear plastic from the window frames and I am experimenting with Humbrol enamel number 74 Linen as the cream colour until I get some funds to buy the correct railway company colours. It's also freehand as I have run out of masking tape.
