I tried to build this before using the old Revell 1/72 Avro Shackleton MR.3 with the AeroClub Shackleton AEW.2 conversion set and the teardrop radome from the Mach2 Grumman E-1 Tracer which didn't turn out the way I expected it.
However,  learning from my mistakes. I choose the Airfix Avro Shackleton AEW.2 and the same teardrop radome from the Mach2 Tracer. I've tried to stick with the instructions but haven't fitted the work stations in the back,  just concentrating on the cockpit.  The nose is flat,  I've used the spare plastic to create the poles holding up the radome. I didn't measure them , but they look to me to be the right height.
I have cut the fuselage so I can paint the pilot's seats and cockpit floor. This will be glued back once the interior detail has been added.
This is what I have come up with.

As an alternative to this I used another Frog Avro Shackleton MR.3,  flattened the nose, added the engines and rotodome from the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye kit and called it the Avro Carlton.
