My photo host is to cease trading at the end of February. I have the originals so I'm not worried about losing the pics just having to repost them all. Any recommendations as to a decent new host? At the moment I have 1483 photos which means I would have to upgrade if PT had continued. The cost rounded up would be $60 per year. I still have a PB account which has 590 pics which I can't use unless I upgrade to allow third party hosting and will cost $65 per annum. While a free site would be lovely I'm prepared to pay for a reliable host. I didn't have any problems with PT but I still hear tales of reliabilty issues from PB. Any recommendations?

Imgur and Deviantart are free, no limit (AFAIK) except on image size (Imgur).  Imgur also provides share links, dA does not and has an expiring token if you copy and paste the image url into the board.

I've moved from PB to Flickr and it's going well. The first 1000 images are free (with ads) and after that it's an annual fee of £55 / $75.

The free Flickr has been troublefree for me, not needing to store all that many pics. I see that the most affordable version of the paid one is €5.49/month ( "unlimited storage, ad-free, with advanced statistics, worry-free backup via the desktop Auto-Uploadr" etc. )

I used to like Deviantart but now links for sharing have those pesky expiry tokens.....

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks Folks. I've signed up to Imgur and uploaded five pics as a test. They didn't show at first so I repeated two of them in case I'd had finger trouble. Same result which was a grey, empty frame. So I went to bed and checked again this morning. Everything was there and I've been playing with the site and think I've worked out how to post photos. Hoping all will be well and thanks again.

Just click on the image you want to share and use the BB link for forums and message boards. Then all you have to do is right click on the line where you want the image to show and paste the link.

Which is why I two step my post process.  Imgur for image link, and Deviantart for the (especially my renders) ability for y'all to see my work in glorious 4k ultra high def.

I'll be honest but I stayed with PB during it's "problem period" mainly because I had a lot on there and had no idea where else to go. I basically now have unlimited storage for $7.99 a month (I've a far lot more that model photos on there) and I find the process of hosting/posting fairly simple and speedy, as long as I sit and think through it logically, now that they seem to have sorted themselves out......touching all the wood going as I type that.

I keep meaning to have a look at how alternative hosts behave/respond, as a back-up, but never seem to get around to it  :-\
